Launch wins Best Use of Search at the UK Search Awards
The excitement of an awards night builds from the moment your agency is nominated. Plans to attend an evening full of glitz, glamour, great food, and goody bags start to unfold alongside the thrill of celebrating with your team after all the hard work.
With lockdown preventing the UK Search Awards taking place in person this year, we made the most of the evening by hosting a virtual party.
Never ones to see a good celebration go to waste, especially when a Christmas get-together was looking slim, we went all out – instead of out, out.
Planning a virtual event
We hang out on Google Meet day-to-day, which made the venue an easy choice. Deciding how to shape the night was a little less easy. With so many delicious suppliers to choose from and having spent months exhausting the ‘socially-distant social’, we wanted to bring it to life with a bit of theatre.
Toying with the ideas of virtual cocktail making, murder mystery, or even an escape room, we settled on something a little more homely and closer to our stomachs – a team cook-along.
Supporting small businesses
Our Mindful Chef healthy eating recipe boxes were delivered straight to our doors. A business idea born out of Devon and now feeding the nation, we delighted in pretending to pass the menu around to pick our selections pre-event. A few of the mouth watering recipes chosen were: Venison, courgetti, meatballs, and chickpea burgers.
Our tables extended through the screens as we followed the recipes and sat down to dine together. Thankfully there were no cooking disasters and everyone’s food looked delicious!
We washed all this down with Devon Cove Vodka. Made from the potatoes grown on their farm, you couldn’t get closer to the produce. They hooked us in with their Espresso Martini; perfect for a pre-award mingle. Not so perfect for early nights, as they tasted divine and it was difficult to resist a second glass!
Wildlife Botanicals added an air of sophistication to the night and the perfect accompaniment to a celebration. Ultra-low in alcohol yet ultra-high in goodness, we felt quite smug to be adding a bit of goodness to our elixir.
We were pleased to be nominated at the UK Search Awards a few year ago – although we felt a little overwhelmed when we sat in a room of well-known brands competing to win.
This year, quietly confident, we presented our results for selling holidays throughout the pandemic with Aria Resorts and were delighted to win Best Use of Search 2020! Well done team!
